Course description
Equine First Aid - An Introduction
This three hour workshop is ideal for first time horse owners or anyone wanting to find out more about horse care.
The session is a blend of demonstration and practical experience covering basic first aid in an emergency situation, how to treat minor injuries and recognising signs of ill health. Advice will also be given on post veterinary care.

Minimum age 14 (Parental consent required)
Please come appropriately dressed for an equine yard with an approved riding hat, gloves and boots.

Outcome / Qualification etc.
A Writtle University College Certificate of Attendance will be issued on the successful completion of a practical assessment.
Training Course Content
Topics covered include Temperature, Pulse, Respiration, Colic, Bandaging and applying a Foot Poultice.
