Canine First Aid
This course covers basic Canine First Aid for emergency situations and is a necessity for all responsible dog owners and dog professionals.
Suitability - Who should attend?
The tutor uses her own dogs for demonstration purposes therefore participants are asked not to bring their own dog.
As with all practical courses participants are required to wear sturdy footwear, they will require note taking equipment.
By making a booking you are declaring yourself medically fit to participate in the course.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
A Writtle University College Certificate of Attendance is issued on completion of the course
Training Course Content
You will learn the role of a first aider, handling and restraining an injured dog, assessing and administering first aid:
- Bandaging
- CPR
- Conducting observations
- How to transport an injured or sick dog.
The training will show participants how to deal with emergency situations and treat minor injuries. A refresher course is recommended, every 3 years.
