Course description

Presented by Sacha Schoenfeld, this webinar provides guidance for those who wish to come to the UK temporarily and who wish to work whilst they are here, as well as those who are considering working in other locations outside of their main residence.

The pandemic forced businesses and employees to rethink their work location policies, with many adopting practices to enable their employees to work fully remotely or on a hybrid model. Many jobs can now be undertaken from almost anywhere, and since lockdowns ended all over the world, the way people work has changed.

This webinar will consider important questions such as: Do visitors need a visa to work in the UK remotely? What are the implications for EU nationals working in the UK, and for UK nationals working in the EU? What are the employment law considerations? Tune in to find out the answers to these questions and more.

Introduction

This webinar provides guidance for those who wish to come to the UK temporarily and who wish to work whilst they are here; as well as those who are considering working in other locations outside of their main residence.

The pandemic forced businesses and employees to rethink their work location policies, with many adopting practices to enable their employees to work fully remotely or on a hybrid model. Many jobs can now be undertaken from almost anywhere, and since lockdowns ended all over the world, the way people work has changed.

Recent changes in UK legislation have reflected this, and rules in other countries have also been introduced to allow for and accommodate remote workers.

What You Will Learn

This webinar will cover the following:

  • What are the immigration implications for visitors - do I need a visa to work in the UK remotely?
  • Can I work as a digital nomad in the UK, or elsewhere?
  • What are the implications for EU nationals working in the UK, and for UK nationals working in the EU - restrictions and guidelines
  • What are the employment law considerations to be borne in mind, including the implications for employment contracts, data and confidentiality concerns, wellbeing, supervision and management of remote employees, and tax implications
  • Practical tips - how to manage and take advantage of the flexibility afforded by remote working
