Course description
Develop your skills in floristry crafts to an advanced level and learn to work to commercial briefs, with our Level 3 Certificate in Creative Craft (Floristry) at Writtle College.
As a student at Writtle College, you’ll be based in purpose-built floristry facilities on our beautiful campus at Writtle.
Our Level 3 Certificate is the next step in your learning journey if you’ve previously completed a Level 2 qualification.
We know you’re serious about a career in floristry so we take time to explore commercial briefs, and how you can produce floristry work in response to clients’ requirements.

Suitability - Who should attend?
16-18 year olds
- Level 2 floristry qualification at Merit or Distinction
- GCSE Maths and/or English at 9-4 (A*-C)
- Evidence of practical floristry experience
- Satisfactory reference from your most recent school, college or employer
19 years and over
- A suitable Level 2 floristry qualification and/or portfolio evidence demonstrating floristry skills and experience
- Good literacy and numeracy skills, ie the ability to read and interpret written tasks, write answers and complete documents in a legible and understandable form, and make calculations
Alternative qualifications or experience will be considered on application.

- Explore Floristry Techniques, Materials, Tools and Equipment
- Develop Floristry Ideas
- Explore Commercial Briefs
- Produce Floristry Work in Response to a Commercial Brief
Course delivery details
This qualification consists of four mandatory units. Units are subject to change and availability.
As well as studying in college, 16-18 year old students complete a work placement of minimum 450 hours. We strongly encourage all our students, including those aged 19+ and studying the part-time course, to complete a work placement.
Assessment
You’ll prepare a portfolio of evidence that’s internally assessed and externally moderated.
