Course description
Gain an in-depth understanding of the role psychology can play in supporting health, exercise and wellbeing. Study BSc (Hons) Health and Exercise Psychology at ARU Writtle.
Health and exercise psychology is an area of sport science that has grown rapidly in the last decade.
Declining levels of physical activity, and an increase in obesity and long-term health conditions, highlight the importance of supporting people’s health and wellbeing.
This includes the mental health of young people, where research continues to illustrate a correlation between physical competence, levels of engagement with physical activity, and mental health.
As a student at ARU Writtle you’ll explore attitudes towards health, exercise and wellbeing; and how ideas and techniques used in sports psychology can also be applied in ‘regular’ health and exercise settings. You’ll discover the role that psychology can play in supporting the health and wellbeing of the general population.
Our course is ideal if you’re looking to work in areas such as sports psychology, health and wellbeing, elite sport, or for governing bodies.
