Course description
Learn to support people with a range of health conditions to increase their levels of physical activity. Study a BSc (Hons) Sports Science with Exercise Referral degree at ARU Writtle.
Our course looks at the impact that health conditions can have on daily living, and related areas such as physiology, nutrition and psychology.
You’ll review current exercise referral programmes, and explore the social identity approach to sport and exercise – which shifts the focus to the group or team as a way of encouraging participation.
As a student at ARU Writtle, you’ll take part in practical, hands-on classes using specialist sports facilities and equipment. These include our Centre for Sport and Health, which is open to the public and where you may work with elite clubs and athletes, and members of the community.
You'll be taught by staff who are experienced practitioners in elite sports such as football, cycling, GB Basketball, squash and athletics.
When you graduate, you’ll have a well-rounded understanding of exercise and rehabilitation, and be ready to make a start on your career.
