During this eight-week Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course, you will discuss the historical bases from which management theory has developed and how historical perspectives have influenced contemporary thought.
With links to construction companies worldwide, the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment is key to supporting your progress to senior management.
This course will allow you to critically evaluate contemporary and emergent management theory and practice along with current and evolving human resource management philosophy.
After successfully completing this course you will be able to:
- review the historical bases from which management theory has developed and show how historical perspective has influenced contemporary thought
- critically discuss the contribution which national and international management thought can make to the development of individual management performance
- examine current and evolving human resource management philosophy within an international context
- evaluate human resource issues at management and operative levels within corporate and project arenas, both nationally and internationally.
At the end of the 8-week course, you will be awarded a CPD certificate (worth 10 academic credits).
Passing the assessed element (an exam or coursework) can also contribute credit towards the Online MSc Construction Project Management offered by Nottingham Trent University. All candidates seeking credit will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. If you wish to follow the credit route you must mention this on your application form.
