12-Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG) Interpretation
This module is for registered healthcare professionals in the hospital and pre-hospital setting who are familiar with the process of cardiac monitoring and have some knowledge of 12-lead ECGs.
You can access this module either as a student of the Associate Student Health and Social Care course or by undertaking the Pre-Hospital Care route of the BSc Hons Professional Practice in Health and Social Care course.
Interpretation of 12-lead ECGs has become an integral tool in the medical environment, aiding the professional’s ability to make effective clinical decisions for patients. You will develop an underpinning knowledge of 12-lead ECG interpretation to enhance your skills and knowledge used in practice.
There will be a revision session on the morning of April 22nd.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Study at Level 5 or above within the last five years.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
- You will be taught to accurately record 12-lead ECGs and develop a systematic methodology for their interpretation and review.
- You will acquire the skills and knowledge required to critically analyse the significance of dysrhythmias and their influence on the patient journey.
