Course description
This module forms part of the postgraduate certificate pathway in Angiography. However is suitable for study as an associate student or as part of the MSc Medical Imaging or Imaging in Medicine course. The module will enable the student to:
- gain a comprehensive understanding of the physical and biological principles which underpin the acquisition, production and presentation of angiographic images;
- to develop the student's ability to critically analyse and evaluate a broad range of imaging techniques and protocols.
Lectures by clinical and external experts will introduce the students to a range of angiography applications and protocols. Tutorials will be used to critically evaluate and reflect on how choices in techniques may impact on dose, safety and image quality. Directed study will be used to guide the student in their preparation of the case study and the seen examination as part of learning process, which will include a critical appraisal of current practice and published literature. The VLE will be used to support the students learning and to facilitate sharing and collaboration in problem solving.
