Course description
This full-time MSc pathway is a modular programme encompassing a broad range of academic modules related to medical imaging, health care, research and management. The programme is delivered by the Division of Radiography academic team in partnership with clinical and scientific experts working within specialised areas of medical imaging to ensure the curriculum remains appropriately diverse and clinically relevant.
Education within the clinical environment is not a component of the course and on successful completion, students will not be eligible to apply for Health Professions Council (HPC) registration. However, upon successful completion of the MSc Imaging in Medicine, students will have the knowledge and understanding necessary to work at an advanced level of practice within their chosen medical imaging discipline and apply learning to international health communities to inform health service practice and delivery.
Students wishing to study modules that require clinical experience (see module portfolio) must arrange a clinical placement prior to registering on the module. The Division of Radiography is unable to negotiate clinical placements on behalf of students. Students following this programme should not expect to be able to study modules requiring a clinical placement. It should also be noted that this award is not approved by the UK Health professions Council and therefore does not lead to eligibility to apply for registration as a radiographer.
