Delivered in partnership with Frieze, Collecting At: Frieze New York consists of a condensed in-person program which offers participants the unique opportunity to explore the topic of collecting modern and contemporary art in an intensive and focused learning experience.

Designed for both seasoned collectors looking to broaden their horizons and fresh collectors looking to hone their skillset, this course introduces valuable strategies for building your art collection with a refined approach. It offers professional insights around how to navigate the fast-paced international marketplace as a collector, through academic lectures, site visits, and by attending one of the world’s leading art fairs.

The ever-changing global landscape of today’s art market, with its international art fairs and dizzying calendar of live and online auctions, presents more opportunities than ever to buy art. In this unique course that combines classroom study, event experience, and networking opportunities, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the global modern and contemporary art market, with a specific focus on the New York scene. Students will discover more about the global art world capital of New York, a city that by far dominates the international art market and is the launching pad for many of the most influential artists, as well as host to the most important galleries, museums, and auction houses.

The course discusses key considerations for both budding and experienced collectors on navigating the art market in lectures and workshops led by scholars and art world professionals. The course includes an exclusive tour of Frieze New York with an expert guide, who will provide indispensable insights to discerning collectors on the fair’s offerings.

Please note that there may be additional or optional events scheduled outside of the listed course times, including early starts or activities such as tours or dinners that could extend past 4pm.
