OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality
The qualification OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management will help the learners to develop the management knowledge and skills of tourism and hospitality industry. Successful completion of the qualification will equip learners with the specialist skills and knowledge they need to plan and manage their work areas, to make effective decisions, and to adapt effectively to the needs of a range of tourism and hospitality organisations.
OTHM qualifications at RQF Level 6 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to Bachelor’s Degrees with Honours, Bachelor’s Degrees, Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Graduate Diplomas and Graduate Certificates.

Suitability - Who should attend?
- Relevant NQF/QCF/RQF Level 5 diploma or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Learner must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the course
- Mature learners (over 21) with management experience
- International students whose first language is not in English, they will need to have score of 5.5 or above in IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

- All the important management theories and models are covered in this course. As a result, the students will gain a better understanding of the various management techniques that are applicable in the workplace.
- Will be helpful to the students to develop their problem-solving skills through the practical application of the various management models and theories.
- A nationally – recognised qualification, the credits earned at this course can be transferred to other courses, if the students want to pursue MBA or any other Masters.

Training Course Content
Unit1- Strategic Marketing
The aim of this unit is to learners to gain the knowledge in tourism and hospitality management and analyses the skills in strategic marketing. This will include developing marketing plan and implementing new products and services.
Unit2- Researching Tourism and Hospitality Management
The unit aims to develop the design and research skills of the learner and inform the management of tourism in an organisation. The will analyses the date and will make planning for the future actions.
Unit3- Tourism Policy and Planning
The unit will help the learner to understand the basics and develop to understand the principles tourism and planning. Learners will gain the knowledge of theories and concepts from the field of tourism management.
Unit4- Organisational Behaviour and Performance
The unit focusing to develop the learner’s performance, leadership and management skills in tourism and hospitality organisation.
Unit5- Technology in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry
The unit aim to use the technology to develop the skills in tourism and hospitality sector. The learner identifies the impact of social media and internet in tourism and hospitality management.
Unit6- Tourism and International Development
The learner will understand the relationship between tourism and international development. Learner will analyse the international concepts and apply the same in tourism sector.

Continuing Studies
Learners completing the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management will allow progress to:
- OTHM Level 7 Diplomas; or
- Will be eligible to gain direct entry into relevant Master’s degree programmes; or
- Directly into employment in an associated profession
