Level 1 Skills for Professions in Catering, Hospitality & Tourism
This qualification is suitable for those aged 16-18 or 19-24 with an EHCP who are new to or would like work in catering, hospitality or tourism. The Maths & English element of the course will be tailored to your specific needs. Learner skills across the catering, hospitality and tourism sectors, including barista skills.

There are no formal qualifications required to undertake this course. To secure your place please return the completed registration form available from the course webpage on the Step Into Learning website. After which, we will arrange a visit so you can come in, meet the course tutor and see the course in action.

This course will prepare you to work in catering, hospitality or tourism. You will gain practical skills, knowledge and improve your Maths and English.

Training Course Content
You will learn about a variety of skills across the different work sectors – catering, hospitality and tourism. You will learn practical skills in a commercial kitchen and café as well as gaining knowledge in classroom based sessions. There will be opportunities to learn about preparing food, cooking, baking, barista skills, waiting on tables, event planning and to gain knowledge about the tourism industry. You will also be supported to apply for work experience and jobs.
This is an internally assessed qualification, you will be required to complete a number of assessment tasks to demonstrate understanding of the content of each unit.
