Course description
This one-year course is for 16-19 year olds who want to learn and develop lots of practical skills associated with the repair of vehicle bodies. The course is ideal for learners who have a Level 1 qualification already, or previous experience. This is a full-time course of about 16 hours per week. Learners have the best opportunity to experience a wide variety of body repair activities. At the end of the programme you will achieve a Vocationally Related Qualification in Paint Refinishing at Level 2, along with one functional skill. Assessments vary from practicals, online testing, oral questioning to some assignment work. Support will be given to any learner if required. You will have three weeks of enrichment activities as part of your course. Activities may include trips to Blackpool, London, Baggeridge Country Park, Malvern or Dovedale, Coventry Motor Museum, plus mountain biking, go karting, ten pin bowling and ice skating. Successful completion of this course will give you automatic entry to the Level 3 programme. The Advanced Apprenticeship Programme is also an option.

Suitability - Who should attend?
You will attend a formal interview, followed by a college devised assessment. Learners who have previously passed a Level 1 Body Repair programme will be given automatic entry to this programme. Keenness and enthusiasm for the automotive trade are essential.
