Course description
The course is the initial qualification for new, existing or potential part-time teachers to Adult/Further Education who are required to gain the first stage of their teaching qualification. In this course you will learn: Understand own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching; Understand teaching and learning approaches in the specialist area; Demonstrate session planning skills; Understand how to deliver inclusive session which motivate learners; Understand the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping. Candidates are required to undertake a minimum of 30 minutes micro-teaching -delivery of a teaching session to peers in a learning setting.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Students will need to have a specialist subject qualification or equivalent experience related to what you are planning to teach. You also need to have Maths and English GCSE minimum grade C. You will be required to complete an initial assessment or literacy and numeracy and have a one to one interview.
