Course description
The Level 2 Diploma in Electrical installations is the industry recognised route to get on your way to becoming a fully qualified electrician making you eligible to work in the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.
The City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 Course covers all of the essential electrical installation skills, knowledge of electrical science and electrical principles to be confident in working within the electrical industry.
Suitability - Who should attend?
This Level 2 Diploma will suit you if you want to learn the basics of electrotechnical principles and practice to help start off your career in the electrical sector. To become fully qualified you will need to complete the Level 3 certificate and an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.

On completion of this course, you will have gained the necessary knowledge and skills to become confident in your ability to:

Understand how electricity works and the scientific principles that govern it

Work within the industry in a safe and productive manner alongside other building services engineers

Install wiring systems and enclosures including socket outlets and other power circuits, lighting circuits, alternative wiring system (single and twin and earth PVC cables), installing and fabrication of PVC and Steel trunking and conduit, cable tray and steel wire armoured cable.

Construction and safe use of portable scaffold platforms

Safe isolation and basic pre-energised inspection and testing.

- Evenings - Monday and Tuesdays - 6:30pm - 9:30pm
- Evenings - Wednesdays & Thursdays - 6:30pm - 9:30pm
- Weekends - Saturday and Sundays - 9.30am - 4.30pm.

Continuing Studies
Upon completion of level 2 you can work within the trade whilst being supervised by a qualified worker, to work unsupervised, you are required to hold the level 3 diploma. By completing the Level 2 Diploma you will be able to continue to further your qualifications and complete the Level 3 and other awards.
