Introduction

Pregnancy and maternity discrimination is still a huge problem in the UK.

A TUC study carried out in June 2020 found that 1 in 4 pregnant women and new mothers experienced unfair treatment or discrimination during the pandemic. Under the various legislation there is strong protection for pregnant women and those on maternity leave against unfavourable treatment or dismissal.
