Course description

This Organisation Design & Development Certificate – CMI Level 7 Qualification has been developed by Labyrinth Coaching and Consulting, who have over 12 years’ extensive experience of working with Leaders through the OD&D lens. They were also instrumental in designing, developing, and delivering the Advanced Award in OD&D for CIPD as well. The CMI accreditation, has created a very exciting opportunity for learners because OD is now considered as the Leader’s accountability as it typically goes hand-in-hand with Strategy, so it is best placed as the Leader and Managers’ responsibility, rather than only through HR or Learning and Development.

The organisational developmentcoursehas been designed for Managers, Leaders, HR, Change and OD Professionals and consultants (both internal or external), who want to develop their strategic skills and effectiveness through using Organisation Design and Development methodology.

Thisorganisational development qualification provides a toolkit of the most powerful methods and frameworks used in Organisation Design& Development, which enable the learner (and consequently their organisation), to develop new ways of thinking. The programme provides theoretical input, and practical examples to help with understanding. It also looks at how learner’s own organisations apply this methodology in their day-to-day operations while sharing relevant case studies from tutors themselves to bring the learning “alive”.

  • Understand the relationship, similarities and differences between HR Strategy, HR Business Partners and OD practitioners, as well as the value each contributes to the organisation

  • Assess their own organisation’s interpretation and implementation of HR Strategy in relation to the business Strategy, OD and HR Business Partnering using diagnostic organisation models
  • Obtain data to decide how to initiate and manage organisation change by evaluating the links between the various elements and the underlying dynamics
  • Recognise and influence the strategic decisions and activities using Consequence Leadership methodology
  • Gain an understanding of various OD Intervention tools and techniques and their appropriate application
  • Be more choice-full in response to underlying dynamics or chaotic and complex situations
  • Develop confidence as OD practitioners
  • Practice applying a variety of alternative approaches to exploring and understanding OD in the context of an organisation
  • Describe the features and benefits of the various models of change and organisation design
  • Decide whether the organisation issue merits organisation design or redesign
  • Make informed structural decisions in relation to the organisation or business Issue
  • Assess the organisation’s readiness for change and develop implementation strategies
  • Engage stakeholders in the design process
  • Identify the organisation capability needed to sustain flexibility and adaptability

Course delivery details

Module 1: OD for Leaders and HR Professionals

This is a highly interactive experience, which is delivered as either In-Person or Live Virtual Classroom (2 full consecutive days)

Module 2: Organisational Design for Today's World

Delivered as either In-Person or Live Virtual Classroom (2 full consecutive days)

To obtain the Organisation Design & Development Certificate – CMI Level 7 Qualification, learners are required to attend both modules,  kick-off session, and assignment learning set, as well as complete a post programme assignment(s).

The programme is also open to those learners who want to attend the programme for their own skills and personal development, and who do not intend to obtain the Certificate.

This course is available as an open course, and also bespoke and corporate teams training upon request.
