What will I learn?
This Foundation Diploma is a programme of experimental and integrated learning. It is designed to ensure that a full range of learning opportunities is provided which is necessary to help students be aware of the demands of art and design. The programme recognises the importance of independent thinking, organisation and motivation, leading to an informed choice of progression opportunities.
The course is delivered through studio, workshop and lecture based practice across a range of Art & Design disciplines to enable students to make unformed decisions and facilitate progression to undergraduate courses. The Foundation Diploma is characterised by experiential, experimental and integrated learning and is supported by visits to galleries, museums and other locations.

What do I need to know?
Students who enter with at least one of the following qualifications, and are 18 years of age, are likely to benefit most from the programme: The minimum requirement is one AS Level qualification (A-E) or BTEC Extended Diploma (PPP) and GCSEs at grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent including English or Mathematics. A portfolio of work and a satisfactory reference are required. Mature applicants may be considered without formal qualifications depending on portfolio and experience. A successful interview and satisfactory reference are required for all applicants.
