Key Points to cover:
Purpose: To ensure that priorities and strategies are established, championed and implemented and that sufficient resources are provided. To ensure that business decisions are made in the light of the implications for risk management and that stakeholders are informed and engaged on the performance of the business in relation to risk management. To ensure there is adequate and effective risk communication and visibility of senior managers is maintained to support and deliver a positive health and safety culture.

- Senior managers of high hazard industries need to make business decisions based on their impact to risk management
- Senior managers need to understand the basic concepts of risk management in major hazards
- Leaders should actively seek out information on risk management rather then waiting to be told
