Course description

An engaged team is a motivated team. Giving and receiving feedback is crucial to encouraging the best performance. Handle feedback poorly and it will show in your team; whether you misread how direct to be with an individual, you weren’t clear enough in your message or you gave feedback in a group setting when individually would have been best. Handling a sensitive area poorly can quickly lead to loss of trust and demotivation, both of which are detrimental to team morale. Learning to give feedback is only half of the battle.

How to successfully receive feedback is also a skill that needs practice to get right. Easily done when you’re being complimented on your efforts, but if something hasn’t gone to plan it’s important to receive negative feedback so you can regroup, replan and redevelop. Different cultures will have their own preferred methods when it comes to feedback, and as a global business it’s important we all understand the “cultural code” to navigate difficult conversations successfully and confidently.

This session will highlight typical problem areas and give participants a trusted roadmap to help perfect the feedback loop.
