Course description
Landscape Level 2
This course covers the basic principles of hard landscape construction, including fencing, paving, brickwork and using landscape machinery.

Suitability - Who should attend?
You will need 2 to 4 GCSEs at grades 2 – 3 (grade D – E) or above, or a Level 1 qualification or relevant practical experience in the landscape industry.
3 years working in the industry.
Students aged 16-18 can also consider applying for Horticulture Level 2, which is a full-time course and opt for the Landscaping modules within that programme.
Training Course Content
Topics include:
- Establish and maintain plants outdoors
- Understand the basic principles of plant science
- Setting out from a plan
- Construct and maintain garden fences
- Construct garden walls
- Construct landscape foundations and surfaces
- Introduction to landbased machinery operations
- Undertake work related work experience
Continuing Studies
You could progress to a Level 3 course in horticulture or landscape construction at Merrist Wood or landscape jobs in the industry at craftsman level.
