Course description
Suitable for those who have successfully completed all aspects of Level 2 Beauty programme and who wish to become qualified in body and electrical aspects of beauty therapy along with body massage. This course is run over 2.5 days per week.
Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients, successfully promote and sell products, provide a range of beauty treatments including body massage, skin and body analysis and electrical science in order to make informed decisions for face and body electrical treatments. In parallel, learners will develop their communication and customer service skills, their awareness of environmental sustainability and their commercial skills, all of which are valued highly by employers. Problem solving and research skills will also be developed.
All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies.

Excellent facilities with up to date and well equipped training salons using professional equipment and high quality commercial products. The salons are open to the public who contribute to students training, enabling our students to be well prepared for industry and employment. Students attend educational trips to support their programme and good links to the industry are maintained.

Suitability - Who should attend?
To enrol on our Beauty Therapy Level 3 you will need:
Beauty Therapy Level 2 Certificate or Diploma, from either Activate Learning or another college
AND
Five or more GCSEs grades 4–9 (A*–C), including English and maths
You will need to have at least 88% attendance from the Level 2 course and maintain it on the Level 3 course.
ESOL Level 2 or IELTS 5.5, BKSB Level 2 for adult learners.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
Employment in beauty salons, department stores, hotels, health spas or cruise ships or set up your own business. Alternatively you could move on to further courses and Higher Education.
