Course description
This course is designed to provide an understanding of the beauty industry and theory of the human anatomy at Level 2.
Topics include:
- Working in Beauty related industries
- Health and Safety
- Client care and communication
- Promote and sell products
- Facials
- Waxing
- Manicure
- Pedicure
- Make-up
- Eye treatments
- Create an image
- Reception duties
All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies.
You should have an interest in the beauty industry and be committed to learning the skills you need for your career.
Excellent facilities with up to date and well equipped training salons using professional equipment and high quality commercial products. The salons are open to the public who contribute to students training, enabling our students to be well prepared for industry and employment.

Entry Requirements
A minimum of two GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C) including English and preferably Science. If you do not have grade 4 (C) in Maths you will be required to working towards achieving this alongside your course. Good communication skills and smart personal presentation will be essential and you will need to have positive references.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
Beauty Therapy City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma or work in salons, department store, hotels or health spas.

Expenses
You should allow for the following additional costs: uniform, equipment, essential book list (to be advised), files and resources at a cost of approximately £285. An education visit cost is included in the additional cost.
