City & Guilds Carpentry Course

Able Skills can offer you the opportunity to obtain a City & Guilds certificate in carpentry. This accredited 3 week basic carpentry qualification is an excellent start for anyone looking to start training as a Carpenter.

The course will provide you with hands-on training during which time you will be assessed by our qualified carpentry assessors. The entire City & Guilds process is completed here on site at Able Skills which ensures this course is delivered using the correct procedures and without delay.

You will be trained and assessed across the following areas:

• Health and Safety in construction
• Fixing architraves and skirtings
• Constructing and fixing hatch linings
• Fitting locks and latches

This is an intensive 3 weeks of hands on training, during which time you will build a portfolio of your work. You will be assessed on a variety of units as detailed above.

At Able Skills we pride ourselves in the diversity of the skills that are available within our carpentry training centre. If upon completion of this course you would like to learn much more then you can consider upgrading to City & Guilds Certificate & Training to NVQ Level 2. This would require you to train for an additional 5 weeks; payment would be adjusted to reflect what you have already paid on this course.

We also offer combined Carpentry, Joinery and NVQ courses; again, upon completing this 3 week course, an adjustment to time and payment could be madeif you wanted to upgrade and enhance your skill level.

This is a hands-on, practical carpentry course and you will be involved at every stage and will be participating throughout. It is therefore recommended you bring suitable clothing and for your own safety,steel capped footwear is essential.

All of our courses take place at our dedicated training centre in Dartford, Kent. The centre is easily accessible by road, being just 10 minutes from junction 1a on the M25. We are only a short walk from Dartford train station which is served by frequent trains taking 35 minutes from central London. For anyone travelling from further away, we have our own accommodation available at only £25 per night.

This is a3 week courseand the cost is£1495.00including vat. A deposit of £300.00 will secure a booking with the balance payable over the period of the training. This course is also available over 7 weekends
