Welding for Beginners
During this 20 hour course, delivered over four days, you will be instructed in techniques that will allow you to develop the skills required to carry out basic welding tasks.
Suitability - Who should attend?
We are governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations therefore participants will not be allowed to start the course without wearing steel toe capped boots or shoes, gloves and suitable protective clothing which provides full cover for arms and legs. We strongly recommend also wearing a high visibility vest.

Outcome / Qualification etc.
A Writtle University College Certificate of Attendance will be issued on the successful completion of a practical assessment.

- Health and safety of welding processes and equipment
- Oxy-acetylene welding and cutting (O/A)
- Manual metal arc welding (MMA)
- Metal active gas welding (MIG/MAG)
- Bronze welding, macro-etching
