Course description
Welding Arc (Stick) and MIG
This 5 evening practical course is for those wishing to learn and/or develop the skills and underpinning knowledge required for Arc and MIG welding.
Whether starting from scratch or developing existing skills this is an excellent course to discover the potential or MIG and stick arc welding from do it yourself to basic non coded professionals.
A series of informal tasks will be set to provide recognition of achievement.

A Writtle University College Certificate of Attendance will be issued on the successful completion of a practical assessment.

- The methods and techniques used to achieve high standards
- Functions of controls and settings
- AC/DC welding plants and their applications
- Electrode types and selection
- Filler wire types and applications
- Types and availability of shielding gasses
- Weld fault investigation and rectification
- Health and safety
