Develop essential horticulture skills and learn how to identify and care for a range of plants. Our course is accredited by the Royal Horticultural Society.
You’ll learn how to care for and prune plants; identify a range of common plants, weeds, pests and diseases; and understand the reasons behind soil testing. Underpinning the whole course is an appreciation of health and safety.
This Level 2 Certificate in Practical Horticulture can prepare you for a career in a growing industry.

The RHS Level 2 Certificate in Practical Horticulture features eight topics, each covering a specific aspect of practical horticulture.

Assessment
Each topic includes a series of learning outcomes. To successfully complete the course, you’ll require a pass grade for each assessment criteria.

This Level 2 qualification can help you start a career in horticulture. You could find yourself working in historical and botanical gardens, landscape management, country parks, recreation and golf courses. There are also opportunities in commercial horticulture, such as growing food crops, ornamental crops, hardy nursery stock production, floriculture and retailing.
It’s also a foundation for further training, including the RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth and Development at Writtle College.
