Course description
Develop your knowledge of sustainable practices, new technologies, science and research to produce plants and crops, with our MSc Horticulture at ARU Writtle.
Horticulture encompasses a diverse range of activities – from landscaping to production of food and non-food crops.
With population growth and climate change impacting upon production, it’s vital to investigate new growing systems and establish crops which can be grown sustainably and transported to market with minimal losses.
As a student at ARU Writtle you’ll have access to a research glasshouse, our campus farm and the Postharvest Unit, which undertakes research and trials with commercial companies. We’ll also arrange visits to growers and post-harvest facilities.
This gives you the opportunity to study a range of crops and develop an understanding of postharvest handling.
On campus, you’ll hear from visiting speakers and build your awareness of the latest trends and research in industry.
There are opportunities to specialise as the course progresses, with a range of optional modules.
Our Masters degree is ideal if you want to develop your knowledge of horticulture and take the next step in your career.
