Course description
Our level 3 education and training award is for people who want to make a big difference in lifelong learning.
The education and learning level 3 replaces the previous Level 3 and Level 4 Awards in PTLLS.
The Level 3 Education and Training Award is an accredited qualification on the RQF framework regulated by Ofqual. The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) supported the qualification prior to its closure in July 2013.
Our education and training course structures provide comprehensive knowledge and practical skills essential for effective teaching and learning. Participants will learn about their roles and responsibilities in teaching and understand the limits of these roles.
These sessions engage and motivate learners to establish an environment that values and supports every student. Additionally, the course covers diverse assessment methods and highlights the significance of meticulous record-keeping, preparing you to assess and document learner progress efficiently.
This course is for people new to teaching or already working as teachers. It helps them gain knowledge and skills in teaching. To get the Level 3 Education and Training Award (RQF), you need at least 12 credits from three required unit groups.

Required knowledge
The good news is that no prior learning knowledge or experience is essential to take these education and training. Learners are not required to be in a teaching position.
These education and training courses are openly available to anyone who is planning to work within the context of flexible learning and short course delivery and would like to take part in a highly rewarding home study course. You have the freedom to start this course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.

- Unit 1: Understanding Roles, Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and Training
- Unit 2: Understanding and Using Inclusive Teaching and Learning Approaches in Education and Training
- Unit 3: Session Planning and Micro Teach Skills
- Please Note: the 3rd unit is aimed at preparing you for the micro-teach and as such it doesn’t have any assignments attached. Unit 3 is still required to complete the course.

Unit 4: Designing and Delivering Great Virtual Learning

Course delivery details
To be awarded the Level 3 Education and Training Award (RQF), learners must achieve a minimum of 12 credits from three mandatory unit groups.
You must participate in one hour of micro-teaching as part of the Level 3 Education and Training Award(QCF). This hour must consist of a minimum of a 15-minute session you deliver. The rest of the time (45 minutes) can be used by you to observe other learners delivering a micro-teach session. If you wish, you can use the entire one hour as your delivery session.
Assessment
The learner will complete a portfolio of evidence by successfully completing all of the activities at the end of each unit. This portfolio is assessed by your tutor who will mark and sign off each completed unit of study.
Upon successful completion of the 12 credits, students will receive a certificate of achievement from the awarding organisation, TQUK.
