Professional liability remains a constant concern for all property
professionals, particularly in the light of recent case law. The
purpose of this popular annual course is to review the current legal
position of all surveyors and other property professionals, both in
managing their risk exposure proactively and in dealing with their
potential liability in disputes. The emphasis is on the understanding
of pitfalls and proactive approaches to risk avoidance.
The course will be of benefit to valuers and other professionals
engaged in valuation and appraisal of property. It will additionally
be of interest to those practising as, or seeking appointments as,
expert witnesses in disputes in these areas.
The learning outcomes of this course provide an understanding of:
• the principles of liability
• the duty of the property professional
• the liability for valuation in unstable markets
• the role of expert evidence: ‘the margin of error’
• relevant recent case law
Course Costs
- The standard price for a half day course is £105.00
- For Individual and Organisations booking three or more half day courses at one time can obtain the courses for £90.00 each course as a multirate discount
- For APC candidates/Retired attendees/Apprenticeship rate - the price is £70.00 per course
