Course description
Party Walls, Access, and Other Neighbourly Issues: a guide to best practice
There is a wide range of issues which can create tension between owners and occupiers of neighbouring properties and there are also many situations when a neighbour has to consent to or to provide access for work to be undertaken. Professionals become involved in giving advice in such situations both with regard to the statutory rights of neighbours and also seeking resolution to disputes. This course examines a number of the key issues and illustrates how they should be dealt with by reference to a range of practice-based case studies
The course covers:
- party walls
- the Party Wall Act 1996
- notices
- disputes
- negotiation of an award
- neighbourly issues
- boundary disputes
- Access to Neighbouring Land Acts
- crane and scaffolding oversailing licences
- rights to light
