Course description
The International Construction Law programme will develop your academic knowledge and awareness of issues in the construction law arena, and increase your understanding of the legal dimension of activities taking place in the construction field and the extent to which they might give rise to legal issues.

Suitability - Who should attend?
- You should have a good honours degree in Law or another discipline form a UK university or overseas equivalent, or an appropriate professional qualification.
- The requirements of a Second Class degree may be waived
- Some background knowledge of law is useful, but a degree in law is not essential.
- If English is not your first language, an IELTS score of 6.0 (including a minimum of 5.5 in each component) or equivalent is normally required if applicable.

- Module 1 – Introduction to Law and Legal Processes – Construction Law (20 credits)
- Module 2 – Alternative Dispute Resolution (20 credits)
- Module 3– International Dispute Resolution (IDR) (20 credits)
- Module 4– Sustainability and Environmental Issues (20 credits)
- Module 5– Construction Contracts (20 credits)
- Module 6– Procurement (10 credits)
- Module 7– Research Methods (10 credits)
- Module 8– Dissertation (60 credits)
Course delivery details
Course Format and Assessment
- To successfully complete the programme, students must pass each module.
- Assessments will incorporate coursework, research assignments, presenting reports and writing essays.
- There will be no examinations requiring attendance at a venue.
- You will also be expected to participate in the virtual learning environment with tutors and fellow students.
