Course description
The energy sector in the UK today (and across Europe as a whole) is characterised by declared governmental commitments towards maximising the use of decarbonised energy forms. These commitments are expressed as measurable, objective, supply-side targets - milestones on the road which is a managed transition to a significant, genuine and sustainable low carbon economy.
The contrast between the model for energy-economy engineering in the renewable energy sector, and the relatively haphazard, demand-driven manner in which the global petroleum industry developed, could not be greater. The emergence of increasing amounts of compelling climate change data compels the design of a new world order for energy.
UK Renewable Energy Law is a 2 day seminar that will explore all of the legal, regulatory, financial and commercial issues inherent in the UK renewable energy sector today and is a perfect counterpoint to the Centre's long-running and highly successful UK Oil and Gas Law course.
