Course description
This blended learning module will:
- Prepare pharmacists to prescribe as independent and supplementary prescribers
- Enable successful students to record their prescribing qualification with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Enable pharmacists to study alongside other healthcare professionals to enhance their knowledge and clinical skills
- Enable pharmacists to gain critical awareness of contemporary issues in order to become safe, competent and effective prescribers, within current legal and professional guidelines
It consists of:
- 8 taught days
- e-learning modules equivalent to 8 taught days
- 10 days individualised guided study
- 12 x 7.5 hour days (90 hours) supervised clinical practice
Learning opportunities are facilitated by a wide range of experienced healthcare professionals including pharmacists, nurses, doctors, physiotherapists and radiographers. Our course has been commended by past students for the excellent tutor support.
