Course description
The course will cover the approach to routine wound management techniques and ocular surgeries in the horse, focusing on standing procedures or those that can be performed in the field or with basic surgical facilities.
There will be six short lectures to include basic surgical preparation and pre-operative planning, sedation and regional anaesthesia for head and eye surgery, periocular surgery including palpebral lacerations, enucleation and third eyelid resection, surgical management of skin wounds and basic skin grafting techniques. The afternoon practical will cover all aspects of these topics in greater detail.
The course structure is 60% Teaching 40% Practical
