Course description
Substance Use in a Contemporary World (PGT)
Since 2000, Scotland has faced a substantial rise in the number of drug-related deaths, with 1,330 people dying in 2021. Connected to this rise is an increase in the number of drug-related harms to health and wellbeing, faced by those consuming drugs, their friends and families, and wider communities. The reasons why people use drugs are complex and related to wider patterns of social inequalities.
