This course will help you to become aware of the key issues surrounding substance use and misuse. It will develop your knowledge of drug types, the effects on both individuals and society, as well as exploring how people and organisations respond to substance misuse. The course will identify substances that are commonly misused and consider the reasons why people misuse substances. It will also cover recognising the possible signs of substance misuse, along with the harmful effects these substances can have on the individual and on society.

This course is suitable for anyone who is interested in developing their knowledge and understanding of substance misuse. There are no specific entry requirements for this course. Basic understanding of English language, literacy, numeracy and ICT are required to complete this course.
