Course description
Students will learn the basics of modern upholstery, such as sewing machine skills, pattern cutting, loose covers, shaped cushions, and working with foams and alternatives. This course is oriented towards people who are intending to work as upholsterers or who intend dealing in modern furniture. Business aspects of modern upholstery will be covered, as well as the skills and techniques needed to produce good finished work. The course is in three 12 week terms, taught on Mondays from 10.00am to 4.00pm
