Course description
What will I learn?
If a part of your job as a technician involves the repair of vehicles after road traffic accidents, this Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA), designed by the Institute of the Motoring Industry (IMI) will help you to demonstrate your skills and abilities as a paint technician. You’ll focus on a number of different modules to test your competence and expertise, including priming and flatting techniques, sealing techniques and the application of clear over base (COB). Assessments will also check your skills and knowledge match agreed industry standards on panel surface preparation processes and the colour identification and mixing process. Once you’ve completed the full assessment, you’ll receive a recognised accreditation that lasts for three years. You’ll also get a place on the IMI Professional Register, illustrating your expertise as a paint technician to employers and customers.
