Course description
Introduction
This course will introduce you to domestic plumbing and is ideal for those who want some basic introductory plumbing skills.
At the end of this course you'll be able to:
Explain health and safety requirements for the workshop
Choose appropriate materials (copper and plastics)
Use hand tools safely
Identify various valves and fittings (capillary, compression and plastic)
Solder copper tube
Bending copper tube using hand bending machine and spring.
Assessment
Your tutor will give you feedback on your work and you'll fill in work sheets. You'll work with your classmates to evaluate each other's work and share ideas.
Next Steps
You could enrol on another higher level plumbing course at the College to gain more experience and learn more advanced skills.
