GCSE Maths
Maths is for everyone. It is diverse, engaging and essential in equipping you with the right skills to reach your future destination, whatever that may be. A GCSE in Mathematics at grade 4 or above is an essential qualification for many jobs.
The GCSE Mathematics course aims to improve your confidence in Mathematics and give you the knowledge and skills to pass GCSE Mathematics at grade 4 or higher.
This course covers a two-year school course in only nine months so you can achieve your goals quickly. It is suitable for anyone needing to gain GCSE Mathematics grade 4 or above: this offers access to higher courses, including A-level and some professional training, and gives confidence in helping your children with their school work. The course follows the syllabus laid down by AQA exam board. You will be required to sit three exams in late May and early June.

Suitability - Who should attend?
A good general level of numeracy is essential for this course. Functional Skills Mathematics L2 or GCSE Mathematics grade 3/D is desirable. You will be given an initial assessment before enrolment to establish your working level.

Course progression
A GCSE in Mathematics at grade 4 or above is an essential qualification for many jobs. It is also needed if you want to undertake further training for professional qualifications, for instance, teaching and nursing, or if you want to go to university. You may want to continue your study by taking GCSE English Language or A Level Maths.
