Maths - GCSE (AQA)
This course aims to enable learners to build on their previous mathematical knowledge and to increase their understanding, confidence and skills set in order to use mathematics in their future careers.

Suitability - Who should attend?
This course is normally delivered over 2 or 3 years in schools. Therefore, it is necessary that learners have good numeracy skills before starting the course. All learners must complete an initial assessment in maths and English before enrolling on the course. Ideally, learners should have achieved Level 2 Maths Functional Skills or Grade D/Grade 3 in GCSE Maths or similar in an equivalent course in order to complete the course in one year. Learners will be expected to carry out at least 4 hours of independent study in their own time, every week, to cover all the course content.
Training Course Content
This course will cover the Foundation content of GCSE mathematics. The course is suitable for learners who have already achieved a certain level of mathematical understanding and knowledge. The main themes of the course are:
- Number Ratio
- Proportion and rates of change
- Geometry and measure
- Algebra Statistics Probability
