Course description
Essential Korean 2 is a semi-intensive 1-week course of 10 hours aimed at those who have taken Essential Korean 1, or who can already use very basic, everyday spoken Korean and wish to improve their language skills.
Duration: 10 hours, one week, Monday 23rd - Friday 27th July 2018
Mode of attendance: 18:00-20:00, five weekday evenings, Monday to Friday
Description
The aim of the course is to build on a basic understanding of simple Korean. By the end of the course, participants will have acquired an essential working vocabulary and an understanding of basic grammatical structures which will enable them to communicate within a limited range of situations. The cultural context underlying the use of Korean will be explored so that learners will have an appreciation of linguistic appropriateness.
The course is taught in small groups with a maximum of fifteen students per group. Classes will be held at the Bloomsbury campus of SOAS in central London.
Method
The course is taught in Korean and English. Class size is limited to fifteen to allow for close intensive interactive practice.
