Course description
The Foundation Diploma is for learners looking to study construction as a one-year, full-time course, or for those wishing to take it alongside another area of contrasting or complementary study, as part of a two-year, full-time study programme. You can progress to higher education, if you take this qualification as part of a programme of study that includes other BTEC Nationals or A Levels. The course is made up of 10 units: seven mandatory and three optional. Two units are assessed by external exam. All other units are assignment based. After successfully completing this course, you could go on to higher education or an apprenticeship in the construction sector, or you could continue a further year of study at Level 3.

Suitability - Who should attend?
You will need a Level 2 qualification in a vocational subject and Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths, or five GCSEs at Grade 4/C and above including English and Maths.
