Course description
Pivot Steer Experienced Course
Our pivot steer experienced course is tailored for individuals who already possess a foundational understanding and some level of proficiency in operating pivot steer machinery, such as skid steer loaders and articulated lorries.
This advanced training programme delves deeper into the intricacies of the machinery, focusing on enhancing the operator's skills, efficiency, and safety awareness. Participants are expected to have prior experience with pivot steer equipment, as the course aims to build upon existing knowledge and practical skills. The curriculum typically includes advanced manoeuvring techniques, complex operational scenarios, and in-depth discussions on machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
Safety remains a paramount aspect of the training, with a strong emphasis on risk assessment and the adoption of best practices to mitigate potential hazards. The hands-on experience is a significant component of the course, providing operators with the opportunity to apply learned techniques in real-world situations under the guidance of seasoned instructors.
Upon completion, participants receive a certification, demonstrating their advanced skill level and competence in operating pivot steer machinery, which can significantly enhance their employability and career prospects within industries that heavily rely on this type of equipment.

Outcome / Qualification etc.
A pivot steer, or Bendi or Flexi truck, is a very popular type of lift truck. The advantage of this model is that it’s easier to drive and position, as well as being better for small spaces because of its compact size.
What’s special about the Pivot Forklift trucks is that they bend in the middle. In other words, they are articulated. The forks are on a pivot which can be moved to the left or the right and can be at a complete right angle to the body where the operator sits (on top of the batteries). The versatile Pivot Forklift truck has the speed of a Counterbalance truck with the high lifting capacity of a Reach truck and can operate in very narrow aisles (VNA) which allows warehouse and distribution companies to increase capacity on their existing site without paying extra rent or rates and without the expense of moving to bigger premises. Another advantage of Pivot Steer forklift truck is that they are legally allowed to lift their load as they move – something not allowed in Reach trucks. This cuts the time they need to position a load on a shelf. It’s estimated that this increases productivity by up to 15%.

Course delivery details
Our pivot steer forklift courses are carried out on our customer’s premises. This gives delegates the advantage of being trained and tested on a forklift that is already known to them, in their specific working environment.
On successful completion of this pivot steer course, delegates will know how to use these machines safely and efficiently.
Here at PD Training, we offer bespoke lift truck training programmes to meet your specific business’ requirements. We will always work around your needs and environment, to cause minimal disruption.
How it works
To undertake the training, we will need the use of your pivot steer forklift truck. We will also need an undisturbed area with enough space to carry out manoeuvres and testing.
It is also recommended that we use pallets and loads that are appropriate to your business to ensure they experience a real working environment.
