Floral Design Level 1 - Traditional Table Décor
An introduction to traditional floral arrangements producing several traditional style table arrangements suitable for events and gifts over the course.
On this course you will cover basic theory and a range of traditional flower designs emphasising colour, line and texture.

Suitability - Who should attend?
What You'll Need to Join:
- No prior experience required, just a love of flowers and interest in floral design.
- A general command of English and Maths both spoken and written.
- You will need to set aside time outside of the class session to complete your write ups.
- Suitable clothing required e.g. apron.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
You will gain a recognised floral design qualification after 10 weeks: C&G level 1 7144-01 106 Traditional Flower Arrangement- Table Décor
Training Course Content
This course covers:
- Identification, naming and botanical classification of common plant material
- Health and safety considerations for flower arrangers
- Construction methods, timescales and simple costings for floral designs
- Introduction to elements and principles of design
- Traditional flower arrangements using colour, line and texture
- Traditional floral designs e.g. diamond, oval, circular and their simple display
Continuing Studies
What You Can Do Next:
City & Guilds courses e.g. C&G L1 Award in Contemporary Floral Design or C&G L2 Certificate in floral design. Other floral leisure courses are available:
