Course description
RHS Level 2 Certificates in the Principles of Plant Growth, Propagation and Development
Our Horticulture students have access to the college campus and estate which includes a range of landscaped areas, specialist gardens and extensive lawns, all appropriately stocked to meet course needs and including annual bedding, herbaceous plants, shrubs and conifers. Our 2.5-hectare arboretum, planted over the past 15 years, provides a range of interesting and unusual specimen trees that complement the existing mature trees already found on the estate.
Extensive glass houses are used for practical activities such as plant propagation and nursery stock maintenance; the 4-hectare Horticulture Unit provides space for outdoor crop production and demonstration areas for pruning, turf management, garden design and sustainable gardening practice. Moulton college has also attracted the latest technology in Hydroponic crop production with developments due to begin in 2019.
Our RHS approved Certificates in Horticulture, are aimed at both the career gardener and the dedicated amateur, and are delivered on our beautiful campus by a top grade team of tutors. Whether you are looking to get hands-on experience of propagating plants, pruning trees and other practical garden skills; or want to develop your knowledge and understanding of plant nutrition, fruit and vegetable production, plant selection and garden planning, then we will have a course to suit you.
