Diploma Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery
If you enjoy working with wood and want to put your practical skills to good use, this could be an ideal career for you. You'll need an eye for detail, good maths skills for working out measurements and the ability to follow technical plans.
Carpentry and Joinery students will learn the basics of wood work fixtures and fittings. We will teach you the health and safety aspects of working in a workshop as well as the proper preparation and maintenance of the tools you will use on a daily basis. You will learn to produce high quality work in a safe environment that encourages creativity.

Entry Requirements
GCSE grades at 2-1 or equivalent or an Entry Level 3 Diploma in a related subject.
Continuing Studies
Progression Opportunities
Students generally progress onto a higher level of Carpentry and Joinery course, move into a job with training (such as an apprenticeship) or move into full time employment.
