Course description
Presented by shipping and construction law expert Andreas Dracoulis, this virtual classroom seminar is suitable for lawyers and contract specialists dealing with all manner of shipbuilding and offshore construction projects.
The session will provide you with an understanding of the legal and practical issues that arise in the context of these projects. It will also highlight differences between contract wording and practices found in the more conventional sectors (such as for trading vessels and passenger ships) and those which have developed in the offshore energy (oil and gas and renewables) sector.
Many of such projects are undertaken using contracts based on the ‘SAJ form’ or BIMCO’s 2007 ‘Newbuildcon’ form of contract. Both contracts are considered as part of the session.
